Women’s History Month is a celebration in which various countries honor women for their contributions to society. In the United States, this celebration happens during the month of March.
International Women’s Day is celebrated internationally on March 8. This day has unique meanings for every woman, but in general, it is a day in which women around us are celebrated, along with all the accomplishments women have made throughout history.
“International Women’s Day is, I think, for me, is a day to remember about all the women in our lives that have made an impact, not only in our lives but also in the lives of other women,” senior Karla Guzmán said.
For senior Laura Flores, International Women’s Day is a moment in which she can reflect and celebrate the different women in her life, whether they are women in her family or her friends or even herself.
Senior Maricela Torres said that for her, International Women’s Day means power and pride.
International Women’s Day also represents a day in which a lot of women continue to fight to have their rights respected and upheld, while also remembering the journey other women have gone through to get where they are, along with the path that remains to be traveled.
