Disney releases their new princess
Disney announced the voice behind its newest princess, Moana, as Auli’i Cravalho, a 14-year-old Hawaiian native, according to the Huffington Post. The source also reported Cravalho will play opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the upcoming film.
Cravalho was cast after Disney auditioned hundreds of people throughout the Pacific Islands for someone who was “brave, inquisitive and confident with strong singing skills, according to the Huffington Post.
“Moana” is a film about a 14-year-old who is on the search of a fabled island that was once searched for by her parents. The story is set in Oceania about 2,000 years ago, and is the first story about a Polynesian princess, according to the Huffington Post.
Nude pictures of Bieber still online
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Justin Bieber is suing the New York Daily News which originally published the nude pictures of Bieber vacationing in Bora Bora on Oct. 7.
A letter sent by Bieber’s legal team shortly after the photos were released, demanded The New York Daily News immediately take down the pictures from their website, the Hollywood Reporter said.
The source reports the letter acknowledged the photos are of Bieber and have not been doctored, and ask the pictures be taken down within 12 hours of notification.
The New York Daily News has not complied and the photos can still be found online, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Bieber is not the first celebrity to attempt control of private photos, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Demi Lovato speaks on mental illness
According to the Huffington Post, singer Demi Lovato spoke out on mental illness after the wake of the Oregon shooting Oct. 5.
In an interview with “MSNBC Live with Tamron Hall,” Lovato talked about her own struggle with bipolar disorder and said most people with mental illnesses are more likely to harm themselves than other people, according to the Huffington Post.
Lovato also talked about how she is urging Congress to focus on the national initiative Be Vocal: Speak Up for Mental Health, according to E! News. The Umpqua Community College shooting in Oregon left nine people dead on Oct. 1, according to the Huffington Post.
