Cain Velasquez to undergo back surgery
According to the MMA Junkie website, Cain Velasquez, former UFC heavyweight champ, will be having back surgery after his most recent injury.
The scheduled surgery and the four-week recovery has forced Velasquez to withdraw from a fight.
The article stated Velasquez previously lost at UFC 188 and a rematch was rescheduled which would give him the opportunity to be the second fighter in UFC history to be a three-time titleholder.
Two weeks before the UFC 196 rematch, which is set to air on Feb. 6, Velasquez was forced to withdraw.
According to the article, UFC president Dana White said Velasquez has undergone shoulder and knee surgery in the past. Problems with a disc in his back will allow him to add back surgery to the list of injuries he has endured.
Rousey focusing on Hollywood career
The MMA Mania and Wizzedwebsites released news that Ronda Rousey will not be returning to UFC 200 due to her Hollywood career.
Rousey was set to rematch Holly Holm in the summer after Holm knocked Rousey out at UFC 193 where Rousey lost her undefeated streak.
In the past year, Rousey appeared in Entourage and Furious 7. She is in the process of filming Road House and is set to star in Mile 22 with Mark Wahlberg according to Wizzed.com.
With these Hollywood commitments it would be hard for her to train for her rematch with Holm.
Mmamania.com and Wizzed.com both state it is unknown when Rousey will be returning to UFC.
