On Friday, Sept. 23, the Center for Cultural Engagement & Inclusion (CCEI) and Wellness Resources hosted the Ritmo Latinx: Dance Lessons with Casa Cha Cha in recognition of Latinx Heritage Month.ย

โ€œWe teach social dance. Social dance is all of the real cultural spontaneous dances which really help people to be able to go out anywhere and dance anywhere,โ€ said Cherelle Champfleur, founder and instructor of Casa Cha Cha.

Students and staff celebrated the Latinx culture while eating tacos, listening to music and of course, learning different Latin dance styles such as Salsa and Bachata.ย

โ€œA huge part of the Latinx community is expressing yourself through dancing and music, so we wanted to provide a safe space for the CLU community to come and enjoy a cultural experience and put themselves out there on the dance floor,โ€ said Bryan Salazar-Pazmino, Coordinator of the Center for Cultural Engagement & Inclusion.
