Student tour guide Sam Hernandez is a junior and exercise science major with a minor in Spanish. When giving the tour, Hernandez said she finds translating to families a little challenging when she is able to speak to the prospective student in English and the family needs Spanish. Hernandez said her favorite part of being a tour guide is connecting with the families. She said she notices some of the students on campus from the tours, and they come up and recognize her, which Hernandez said is heartwarming.
Every week, tour guides give guided tours of California Lutheran University’s campus. A team of 13 student tour guides welcomes prospective students to see the school and what the campus has to offer. The student guides are often the first impression potential students and their families get of Cal Lutheran.ย
