“Whoever wants to come share their work they can share it, all majors, anyone,” senior Aubrey Zambrano said.

On Wednesday, Jan. 31 California Lutheran University’s English Department hosted its first poetry and open reading of the spring semester at Jack’s Corner.

“It is a monthly event that we do for the English department it’s something that we hold, usually at the end of the month and it’s just a time for people to come and share their work,” English Department Assistant and senior Aubrey Zambrano said.

Zambrano said that the participants prefer the small attendance at the event as it is  “easier for people to share their written stories and talk about what they are writing.”

According to the English Department Assistants, the event welcomes people of all majors to share their work or listen to those who present work of their own. They also said there is no need to sign up and all students are welcome to share their work freely.
