Last Wednesday, California Lutheran University Career Services held its annual Graduate School Fair, inviting students to learn more about various graduate school programs. According to the Cal Lutheran website, students who attended the fair could learn about graduate programs, admission processes, and how to stand out in applications.ย
Senior Riley Herbert said the importance of events like the Grad Fair is the opportunity that they provide to meet people face-to-face.ย
โI think with a lot of graduate programs there are a lot of webinars and a lot of online events which are really great, but itโs just kind of a strain,โ Herbert said. โIt’s really nice to get to meet people in person and have some of your fears about applying to grad school alleviated, and just really get to talk with them and ask them your actual questions.โ
For undergraduate students at Cal Lutheran, the Grad Fair can help them discover opportunities and programs that are available to them that they might not have previously known were even options.
โThereโs a lot more schools than I thought there would be for my specific major,โ junior Casey Townsend said.
Townsend said this experience is important because of how it helps students see all the possibilities for their future.ย
