Last Friday, California Lutheran University’s Programs Board held their annual fall event, this year called the Harvest Hoedown.
As a part of the Associated Students of California Lutheran University Government (ASCLUG), Relations Director Anthony Perez Jr. said he helped with the marketing and advertising for the event.
“I think people always need a source of, like, laughter, community, togetherness, because a lot of people sometimes, always tend to just kind of keep to themselves, but having an event like this, you get to meet new people,” Perez Jr. said. “You get to talk about yourself, which is not, like, to sound selfish, but everyone should feel glad to, you know, be happy for, like, within themselves and be proud of themselves.”
At this event, students could engage with ASCLUG members, eat barbecue, line dance, and hang out with peers.
“I really think that this, you know, creates connection, community. I think that’s what our purpose for all of these events is, bringing people together,” said Perez Jr.
