Adele makes up for lost time with ’25’

“I’m sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened,” Adele tweeted. Not surprisingly, people went crazy. I mean one of the biggest artists of our generation announced that she would be releasing new music after more than four years, so why wouldn’t they?

After hearing the news, I was pretty stoked. I’ve been impatiently waiting for Adele to release new music ever since she released “Skyfall.” Luckily, two days after her announcement, Adele released “Hello,” the first single off her new album.

The new single is about Adele trying to reach out to a person who clearly had some type of importance in her life. Not only is the song beautiful, but it does a wonderful job of showcasing Adele’s vocal range and abilities. After publicly dealing with vocal chord problems back in 2012, it’s nice to hear her back and better than ever.

The first time I heard about Adele was when she beat the Jonas Brothers for Best New Artist at the Grammys in 2009. I’m going to be honest, the 14-year-old me, who was a huge Jonas Brothers fan, wasn’t very happy.

It wasn’t until two years later, after the release of her album “21,” that I really started to appreciate Adele’s music and message. Aside from the way she told stories through her music, what I really appreciated was that she seemed like a down-to-earth, normal, young woman. However she had this incredible voice that blew everyone away as soon as she stepped on stage.

With fans anxiously waiting for her new album, Adele’s twitter post gave more information on what to expect from “25.” According to her post, the album can be labeled as being a make-up record. “I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did,” Adele wrote.

I’m happy that Adele is giving fans a different theme with her new album. Although “21” was incredible, it’s refreshing to see an artist not try to do the same thing twice just because it was successful. It adds an authenticity to her artistry because it shows that she is writing about her life, which naturally is always evolving.

I’m so excited to hear what Adele has in store for fans of her music with “25.” The emotion she is able to relay with her voice is something that is uncommon and rare to find in today’s music industry. She’s definitely an artist that’s going to be around for a long time.

Adele’s latest project “25” is scheduled to release on Nov. 20.

    Until next time, stay fabulous!
