The Kingsmen soccer team might not remember what it feels like to have home field advantage anymore.

The road warriors have been away from home for the last four matches, spanning over a week.

The Kingsmen won their two conference matches, improving their record to 6-4 and 4-2 in SCIAC.

“It felt great to go out and do that,” said Danny Kuntz.  “The most important thing for us is now, as a team, we believe we’re going to beat other teams in the league.”

It should feel great.  The Kingsmen boasted wins of 2-1 and 5-1 over conference opponents Whittier and Chapman respectively.
“Winning on the road plays to our advantage because we’ve got the most difficult part of the season on the way,” said Kuntz.  “Now that we are coming home, it plays right into our hands.”

The Kingsmen should hope that they have a good hand to play because they’re going to need one.  The second-half of their season pins them up against Redlands twice, Whittier and Occidental.

“Those are the three teams that we’ve had trouble with in the past three years,” said Kuntz.  “If we can get a couple of those, I think the rest of the league is going to fall underneath us.”

The Kingsmen will host Claremont Mudd-Scripps Wednesday night with kick off set for 7 p.m.  The Kingsmen will follow that up with a home game against La Verne Saturday night at 7 p.m.

“Every game is a must show up for game,” said Kuntz.  “There are no games in the second half of our season that we can let up in.”
The Kingsmen look to be in good shape to compete for a SCIAC title.
