Los Angeles is Loyal to the Lakers
November 19, 2019
Los Angeles is one of the greatest cities in the world when it comes to sports. This city is the home of great sports franchises such as the Dodgers, Rams and Lakers. It is also home to the Clippers and the Angels, but these teams are often ignored.
I fell in love with the Lakers at a young age by watching them win championships. The Lakers have become a huge part of my life and I know the city of Los Angeles belongs to the Lakers and not the Clippers.
According to SilverScreenandRoll.com, Los Angeles Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers admitted that Los Angeles is a Lakers town.
The Clippers will never match the legacy that the Lakers hold. According to Louis Keene of Insidehook.com, the Lakers are “one of the most recognizable brands on the planet…. If Los Angeles has a god, it is Kobe Bryant.”
When you think of the Lakers, you think of shooting guard Kobe Bryant, point guard Magic Johnson, point guard Lebron James and center Shaquille O’Neal among others.
When you think of the Clippers, you think of a basketball franchise with no championships, the little brother of the Lakers and a joke of a franchise.
This season, the Lakers are 9-2 and the Clippers are struggling to start the season with a 8-5 record.
“Los Angeles will always be Lakers town, because we are the best basketball team in the NBA. We have more championships, hall of fame players and the best fans in the world,” Justin Winer, a fellow California Lutheran University student and Lakers fan said.
When I think of Los Angeles, I think of the purple and gold that runs through the blood of every Lakers fan. Los Angeles is now and will always be a Lakers town.
